A picture expressing shallow depth of field is the picture with the two smurfs playing soccer. The photo was shot so the viewer would focus on the two toys and nearly blur out the rest of the background. The f-stop was about 3.8 and the shutter speed was around 1/64-1/125 I believe. The ISO was set to 1600 on my DSLR camera and the white balance was created manually by taking a picture of a white surface and the camera doing the rest. A picture expressing large depth of field was the lined up smurfs one (second to last pic). The ISO and white balance were identical to that of the shallow depth of field. The f-stop was about 10 and the shutter speed was 1/10. I really like the smurf soccer picture better. This is due to my liking of pictures with shallow depth of field. The blur around the picture adds a frame of sorts on the focused objects and completely leads the viewers eyes onto that one object. Large depth of field is better when taking pictures of a large amount of things, maybe a picture off of a mountain looking at all of the land surrounding or maybe a crowd of people.
