Capturing Color
These pictures were taken at the village school in Somerset, as well as the waterfront. I made sure to pick a place with wonderful sources of natural light to aid with the colors. Pictures (going left to right) 1, 2, and 4 are all man made and man placed there, while the 3rd. 5th, and 6th pictures are all natural (forget about the builidings). At the Waterfront/Village, I noticed a substantial amount of orange, red, and green based colors that locked on to my senses. My way of finding things to snap a picture of was closing my eyes and opening and the first color to catch my eye I would chase and take a picture of. To help pop the colors, I made sure each of the colors had an even distribution of visibility. Rather than cutting some of the colors off, I made sure to give each opposing color enough space to be seen and caught by the eye (IE the red glowlight and the blue water bottle in the back). My favorite picture is the middle in the second row. The picture shows the decay of the nature as the season turns, but it also encompasses the decay of the man-made school and shows that all things have a certain life cycle and no matter if it is man-made or natural, things fade away.
