Geography and History Part One - Mallard Point
I chose to photograph a specific place of Somerset that I found as very pecuilar and fascinating to the history of our town. The point has been a place that I have hung out with my friends for over a decade. When I was there, I never wondered of the history or was aware of the point (no pun intended) of the peninsula back in the day. Come to find out, this hangout spot was actually used in the formation of a train station that would go across the taunton river that it pokes out of. One of my favorite photographs is the second row first in. It is an actual beam of metal I found that had to have been related to the train tracks that were over there. It is a piece of metal that I am sure I have come across before. Another photo I loved, was the last row first in. The way the sunlight hits it, and the way it exemplifies the rocks that have been there for centuries and the clash of the grafiti and the urban lifestyle.
