Shadow and Reflection
Shadow
I took these pictures mostly all at night-time. Due to it being nighttime, I utilized a very sharp flashlight that would serve as my manipulated light and form a shadow for my objects. I used my phone to take these pictures, but the ISO was most likely 600-800 and the white balance would've been fluorescent lighting. The cologne bottle was my definite favorite for my shadow pictures. The manipulated light goes into the bottle straight-on and forms the elongated vase-looking shape that is created behind the bottle itself. My second favorite pictures was the silhouette of the dog. This picture again was used with the manipulated light and a lot of squeaky toys to get my dog to pose and stay in place. There isn't any real negative or positive space in this picture, rather negative and positive light being casted. The cologne bottle picture produces leading lines, which is not only the vase-shape lines, but also the framing the flashlight does. Shape also takes place in all three pictures as the light creates a shape on the wall of a water bottle and its insides, and a dog. There is definitely some mystery in the dog picture. What is the real-appearance of the dog? Is the dog alive? Is the dog a robot? Is it even a dog at all? Your guess is as good as mine, but we will never know.
Reflection Reflection
I took all of my pictures in my house utilizing manipulated and handheld mirrors. The pictures most likely had an ISO of about 600-800 and a white balance of fluorescent. My favorite picture was the "million mirrors" one (aka the 2nd picture). The picture goes deep into 3 different mirrors and the last mirror portrays a picture frame or a picture of some sort. This adds mystery to the picture as to what is on that picture frame? I took this picture diagonally from my main bathroom mirror, which then beamed in to my handheld one and which then beamed into another mirror on my bathroom wall creating a wormhole into the souls and minds of the viewer. The subject appears to be the picture frame at the end of the tunnel of mirrors.
