Best Photo
As I was going through my weebly, this picture which was part of my photo essay really caught my eye. For some reason or another, I love the Wes Anderson style of centering the shots. The life-guard chair manages to both be centered and follow the rule of thirds. That, compositionally, makes it an even stronger photo. The sepia filter of the photo really makes the contrast of the sand and the rest of the photo blend with each other. I took this picture at Pierce Beach in Somerset. When I was younger, everyday, me and my friends would ride our bikes or just walk to Pierce Beach to hang out after school. The one thing we loved about it was how nobody was ever there and it was almost "our" beach. This picture perfectly captures the emptiness of the beach as I have always known it as. I think I would use the aperture settings and add a shallow depth of field focusing on the chair itself, but that would also change the meaning of the picture so I'd make this picture and that picture seperate.
