Photo Essay: Envisioning Sunny
Sunflower Hallucinations (Double Expo)
Brett Silva vs Kate Densmore: Dawn of Justice (Photo Emulation)
asThroughout my short-lived photography career, I've been so interested in the art of making simple things look very complex/cool. I started my research to find my photographer by searching up photographers who have done photo essays on everyday objects. I first saw the egg picture on google images and I followed the link. I ended up finding Ms. Densmore's whole compilation of everyday objects. The first two pictures are inspired by the first picture shown. The concept of the lost glove leads mystery and suspense as to what happened or where did the person (or alien?) go as they left there glove? I used the concept of the glove in my first picture but in my second picture, I was inspired by the usage of the hardwood in the glove picture so I grabbed an ol hershey kiss and set it on my dining room table which is hardwood and the light from my window was just coming in perfectly to add the reflection. Again I had to call a little of an audible as I didn't have blueberries but I did have another bright colored food of the earth. I copied the white backdrop of the blueberries in my bathroom and used the very loud color of the carrots to contrast. However it was hard to get a controlled light in the bathroom as I am not as talented as Kate who clearly wields the power to create light from thin air as do most professional photographers. I really could not tell you what those lined in a bowling formation cylinders are but they looked close enough to pill bottles to me. I preferred using pill bottles however as my picture encapsulates a very powerful message showing the dependency of western medication in American society (say what?!?!?!?). And of course the last picture I had to do as it was the first picture I saw from this whole collection. My eggs aren't crystal white as hers were but that's because they are straight from the farm look you can even see grass stains. All kidding aside, I was inspired by these pictures as I stated before by making everyday objects look super interesting.
